Huddersfield Table Tennis
In Division One of the Huddersfield Table Tennis League, Wilshaw Ash had a comfortable 9-1 over their B team.
Russell Senior and Tim Dyson won three sets each, but it’s unlikely that Wilshaw Ash – or Kingsmith A – will have enough matches left to catch current leaders Woodfield Park A.
At the other end of the table, David Browns A are finding it difficult to add to their single victory this season, with their latest defeat – 7-3 against Deighton B – leaving them struggling to hang on to their top-flight status, even though Jonathan Taylor has a very good win rate of 60%.
It looks like Wilshaw will end up with a table-topping team in Division Two, as Wilshaw Damson look to have a comfortable points cushion at the summit.
They accounted for Fountain Of Youth 8-2, with maximums from Nathan Spencer and Stefan Arak.
Fountain Of Youth did gain some consolation with a draw at Marsh D. Glyn Normanton won all three sets for Marsh, with Kerr and Wood replying with two each for the visitors.
In Division Three, Scissett WMC B maintained their promotion aspirations with maximum returns from Clive Standen and Sarah Napier.
